About us
LAVA Design Group is a design firm specializing in residential design. As a local San Diego company, we pride ourselves on being approachable and adaptable, capable of tackling any challenging space. Each member of our team has over 10 years of experience in the home interior design industry, bringing expertise in various areas such as space planning architecture, finishes, and remodels. We work closely with your general contractor, acting as a liaison to ensure a smooth collaboration.
Greetings
My journey began while growing up with a single mother and three younger sisters, which forced me to mature quickly and find my passion in life. I always had a love for art and drawing which led me to a degree in Drafting. This laid the foundation for my technical skills. My love for collaborating and working with people made my degree in Communications a natural choice. I’ve worked in many different aspects of the home design industry throughout my career, starting with San Diego Design, where I designed curio cabinets, followed by CB Design, where I contributed to designing and project managing staircases. Later, I worked at Artifacts International, where I gained valuable experience in furniture procurement, inventory management, and quality control. Finally, I had the privilege of working at Design Line Interiors, an award-winning, leading interior design firm. I started as a Technical Designer and advanced to Vice President of Operations. However, the unexpected arrival of Covid-19 prompted me to embrace a new challenge – running my own company. At LAVA Design Group, I’m putting together all the skills I’ve developed over my career to help my clients achieve their design dreams.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone I’ve encountered along this journey, as each experience, positive or negative, has empowered me to step out of my comfort zone and venture into new territories. Without your influence, I wouldn’t have had the courage to pursue this endeavor.
